RESORT WEAR 2002 & BEACH SUMMER DRESSES

After spending an amazing 10 days in Belize scuba diving, snorkelling, fishing and hanging out under the hot Caribbean sun, I feel rejuvenated after such a long, weird, winter! Belize was just the escape that I needed and of course I made sure to pack my suitcase with some new 2022 resort wear and a few of my all time favourite beach summer dresses. One of my favourite new pieces is definitely the L*Space Nico Dress I scored from Revolve and my new diamond tassel ripped denim shorts from Shop Cider. It was my first time shopping online at Shop Cider and although the wait for my order was a bit long (it took about 2-3 weeks to arrive) I was very happy with the majority of items I received and found my items to fit true to size.

2022 RESORT WEAR TRENDS

Just to recap, 2022 trends for resort wear were sheer/mesh and stretchy fabrics often seen in dresses, swimsuit cover-ups and maxi dresses; neutral’s like khaki shorts paired with a white poplin blouses and straw bucket hats; matching suiting in bright colours with a relaxed fit; dresses in bold colours with exposed midriffs; fringe skirts and dresses; drawstring tops and skirts; feathers accents; and sultry ‘going out dresses’ like a backless summer dresses or something that sparkles!

HOW I LIKE TO STYLE BEACH SUMMER DRESSES

Accessories are key when it comes to styling beach summer dresses and resort wear. Obviously a good pair of sun glasses are a must and this summer big bold eyewear is on trend. Hats I would also consider a beach necessity as it keeps the sun off your face and protects your skin from aging. Bucket hats are still trending this summer as well as large brim straw hats! Beach bags and small clutches are also great to bring while on vacation to help you lug around all your stuff but choose something that is versatile, works with numerous outfits and can easily transition from day to night. Lastly, a good pair of sandals are a must! I think I brought 4 pairs of shoes to Belize and ended up wearing my sandals the majority of the time. Sometimes style only goes as far as what I’m comfortable in, especially when I’m on vacation!
