VALENTINE'S DAY GIFT GUIDE FOR HIM AND HER!

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and although the whole point of Valentine’s Day is not to just buy each other any random gift and call it a day,  sometimes just coming up with a thoughtful or good idea of how to show your love is the hardest part.

One of the most thoughtful gifts I ever received was a heartfelt letter expressing his gratitude and excitement for future plans (trips, career goals, etc) that we will get to experience together. Writing a letter may seem like a hard concept, but once you start thinking about that person and all the good things they brought into your life I’m sure you can think of a couple things to thank them for.

Another good gift that I received was a half dozen assortment of my favourite varietal grape of wine - a little bit of back story here is probably necessary. One year as I started to get sick of my New Zealand Sauvignon and Italian Pinot Grigio (there is nothing wrong with these wine I just wanted to build my palate) I discovered this grape variety called Viognier and I became obsessed. Every time we went out to eat I would order a different bottle of Viognier because it was so tasty and literally went with everything. After awhile he noticing how much I enjoyed and ordered this type of wine so he went to the LCBO (that’s out liquor store), asked for assistance and walked out of there 10 minutes later with a really thoughtful gift for his favourite wino! I was so happy to receive this gift because not only did it show he knows and liked my current quirk but was also happy to encouraging me to expand my palate and try new wines together. Cheers to that!

Another really good gift I received was a pair of earrings. Now it wasn’t necessarily the earrings themselves that made it a good gift, but the fact that he remembered I was swooning over them and went back and got them. That tells me he was paying attention, went out of his way and is very good at surprises!

Honestly most girls just want to spend time with their mate and feel ‘connected’, weather that involves having dinner together and making plans, feeling appreciated and in your thoughts or just showing her that your paying attention and know what she likes and who she is.

2) Write her a letter or make her a small gift! Need inspiration? Think about what fun activates you did together this year, how she helps you be better and how she makes you feel. Don’t’ feel like writing? Okay. What are her favourite activities? Does she like beauty products? Travelling? Wine? Last year I posted DIY products for Valentines day like my ‘Rose Petal Body Scrub’ and ‘Rosehip Hibiscus Tea Bath Salts’. Not enough time to DIY? Check out Lush Cosmetics Valentine’s Day product line! I love all of their bath bombs and I know I would love to receive ‘The Kiss’ Lip Scrub and ‘Prince Charming’ Shower Cream.

3) If you have a bit of cash and feel like getting her something really nice (*cough jewelry) that she can have forever and will always think of you, I would recommended getting something from the Ludevine Morse Code collection. Spell out a secret message in Morse code on a ring, necklace or bracelet! Ludevine also has an amazing heart locket that you can fill with little notes and photos as well as a body chain (I live in mine) one of the most intimate pieces of jewelry out there.
